Alison D. Kewer is a Partner at IslerDare PC.  Prior to joining the firm in June 2015, Alison practiced for five years at LeClairRyan as part of its Labor and Employment Group. Before that, she clerked for one year for the Honorable Melvin R. Hughes, Jr., Honorable C.N. Jenkins, Jr., Honorable Theodore J. Markow, Honorable Beverly W. Snukals, and Honorable Walter W. Stout III at the Richmond Circuit Court.

Alison focuses her practice on the defense of business and employment claims, as well as providing strategic and legal counseling to both public and private employers. She has experience litigating a variety of employment matters, including claims arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. While she focuses her practice on discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims, Alison also litigates complex contract disputes, business torts, and other civil litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout the United States. She also practices before various administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and the Virginia Employment Commission. In addition to her litigation practice, Alison regularly drafts and reviews employee handbooks and policies, employment agreements, severance agreements, and settlement agreements.
