Wayne is an experienced trial attorney.  He has tried jury and non-jury cases in various courts throughout the United States including the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of Virginia, District of Columbia, Northern District of Ohio, District of Oregon, Central District of California, District of Maryland and the District of Connecticut.  Wayne has also tried numerous cases in various state courts and before arbitrators and administrative law judges connected with various federal agencies including the NLRB, HUD and the DOL.

Wayne’s employment law experience includes the defense of individual and class action claims for discrimination (including harassment claims) or violation of wage & hour laws.  It also includes representation of employers in union organizing campaigns, negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and grievance arbitrations under collective bargaining agreements.  Wayne has also defended employers in whistleblower retaliation claims arising under a variety of laws including SOX.

Wayne has also provided advice and counsel to banks and other lending institutions in connection with regulatory fair lending inquiries, examinations or enforcement matters brought by banking regulators and focused on fair lending issues.

Wayne has managed corporate internal investigations where the client has been the audit committee or a special committee of the board of directors of publicly traded companies.  He has also represented CEO’s and other officers of publicly traded companies in connection with investigations and litigation brought by the SEC and the DOJ regarding accounting practices or disclosures by public companies.

Wayne also handles complex insurance coverage matters.

Wayne is a member of the Adjunct Faculty at the University of Alabama Law School where he has taught a course entitled “Class Actions.”
